The Pakistan Democratic
Movement submitted a no-confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister
Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly.
The Pakistan Democratic
Movement (PDM) decided to submit a no-confidence motion against Punjab Chief
Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, after which former president and PPP leader
Asif Ali Zardari submitted a no-confidence motion to the members of PP and
PML-N in the Punjab Assembly. I direct you to submit it.
Following the
instructions of Asif Zardari, the leaders of PPP and PML-N came to submit a
no-confidence motion against Chief Minister of Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez
Elahi.
The motion of
no confidence against Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was received by Punjab Assembly
Secretary Inayatullah, which was signed by the members of the Muslim League-N
and PPP.
In the
movement, it was said that Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi had lost
the confidence of the House, so he should take a vote of confidence again from
the Punjab Assembly.
After the
no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister in the Punjab Assembly,
Governor Baligh ur Rehman will ask Pervez Elahi to take a vote of confidence.
A no-confidence
motion was also filed against the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
The PDM also submitted a
no-confidence motion against Assembly Speaker Sabtain Khan. Now he will also
have to take a vote of confidence from the House.
It should be
noted that Imran Khan announced on Saturday, December 17, in a video link
address to his workers that on Friday, December 23, Punjab and Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies will be dissolved.
After Imran
Khan's announcement, the PDM started efforts to save the Punjab Assembly. In
this regard, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former President Asif Zardari and
Maulana Fazlur Rehman took action and took the allies into confidence in this
regard.
Asif Zardari
also contacted PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, while Federal Minister
Salik Hussain came to meet him today with a message from his father.
Prime
Minister Shehbaz Sharif also announced that he would take all possible steps to
save the Punjab Assembly.
The
House of National Assembly consists of 371 members; the ruling coalition has
190 members while the opposition has 180 members.
According to
the report, the assembly will not be dissolved after the no-confidence motion
is submitted.
